Spring Equinox
Spring: Renewal — or Upheaval?
Spring has blustered in, with more zig-zagging than we’ve witnessed in years. But we do have a near equality of darkness and light, a balance of yin and yang (fully perfect at the recently past vernal equinox). The temperature still teeters, and we can teeter with it. How, then to balance out our own yin and yang?
Nature is changing with every moment. I think of it as the season of most variability. How do we handle change?
One approach is to get out and do. Set yourself a reasonable (human) pace. We are still emerging from our winter cocoon. Too much too fast can be destabilizing (read: cranky and frustrated).
If your "spring" energy is smooth and flexible, you'll catch yourself before you get into an internal bind, and keep going. Or, faced with a barrier, you'll find another avenue. An obstacle is simply an opportunity for creative adjustment.
Regardless of your personal tempo, spring will keep calling you to emerge.
If your body and being are struggling to break free of winter's hibernation phase (perhaps you just don't have the juice to rise up from it), here are some helpful pointers:
get 5 minutes of sunlight in your eyes first thing in the morning (this helps align your circadian rhythm)
stretch
walk outside
If that’s not enough, schedule a tune up. Redirecting and revitalizing your energy can help you smoothly move forward again.
Wishing you a gentle spring.
