Health advice for the winter solstice and beyond

The longest night is for restoring our inner resources. Image: Goran Strand

Raising the Light (and Dropping
the Stress) around the Solstice

Do you ever think that if you could just slow down, everything would feel better? That you'd have some space inside of yourself?   Where did that space go, anyway?  Disappeared when project #323, due yesterday, showed up.

If we lived wise lifestyles, this sense of inner spaciousness, of well being would be frequent.  In winter, that lifestyle can be had with rest, appropriate nourishment, and careful use of resources.

The shortest day arrives today.  So indulge in the long night by mirroring the stillness of nature so you can restore.

In my case,  I've dropped a task or two from the to-do list.   I'm going to bed a little bit earlier.  I'm relaxing the grip of my will (the Buddhists call this the desire nature) to favor that tiny, tiny little light in the innermost self that steers me so much better in life.  This is how darkness delivers power.

With the demands of the holidays, many of us need a way to calm down or recharge and listen inside. Help might be in order.

Here's the help:  a special winter treatment, available through the end of January.  The treatment aims to ground and relax you, connect you back to your inner self.  Nothing more, nothing less.

When you feel relaxed, you don't feel so compressed by life's demands.   When you are grounded, you can respond rather than react. When you have a little inner peace, you can hear that inner voice that  tells you what your true self really wants and needs.

These sessions are available now through January 31st.  You can schedule at www.acupuncturedc.com/book-now,  or email  info@alexandraknox.com to make your appointment.

It's an especially nice way to support yourself as the year pivots into and out of the depths of the dark.

In the meantime, I wish you all a splendid holiday season, with peace and wisdom to match.
